The Museum Utladalen Naturhus
The museum of Utladalen Naturhus (literally meaning nature house) opened in 1998 and houses an exhibition containing information about the natural and cultural history of the valley of Utladalen as well as the western part of Jotunheimen. The house also has a café that is open during the summer between the 20th of June and the 20th of August. You can also take part in guided tours for groups travelling to the farm of Avdal and the waterfall of Vettifossen which depart from Utladalen Naturhus. The house can be found at Skåri, by Hjelle. Skåri was an old farm, where farming operations first ceased in the 1970s. Work to restore the cultural landscape began in 1996.
Guided tours must be booked in advance.
